Burnley have confirmed their first four pre-season friendlies as attentions already turn to the new campaign.

The Clarets will take on North West opposition from League Two to Championship level as part of their build to the 2019/20 Premier League season.

Burnley start their public preparations in the Potteries, with manager Sean Dyche splitting his senior squad for games at Crewe Alexandra and Port Vale on Saturday, July 20, both games kicking off at 3pm.

A trip to face the Alex could see player of the year Ashley Westwood face his former club.

The following Tuesday, the Clarets face Burnley old boy Joey Barton and his League One Fleetwood Town side at the Highbury Stadium, kick-off 7.45pm.

The game could also see them come up against former players Dean Marney and Ross Wallace as Barton builds up to his second season as a manager.

And there is another reunion pencilled in for Saturday, July 27 with a trip to face Championship side Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium.

The Latics, who finished 18th on their return to the second tier last season, are managed by ex-Clarets midfielder Paul Cook.

Beforehand, the Clarets will attend a training camp in Portugal in early July but will not play any games while working in the Algarve.

Two warm-up fixtures at Turf Moor are still to be confirmed.

Ticket details and admission prices for all games will be announced shortly.

The Clarets begin their fourth successive season in the top flight on Saturday, August 10 with fixtures being revealed on Thursday, June 13.
