SEAN Dyche insists Burnley will be back to their best when they host Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Clarets saw their eight-game unbeaten Premier League run ended at Newcastle United on Tuesday night, going down 2-0.

But Burnley remain clear of the relegation zone and have an immediate chance to bounce back against the Eagles this weekend, something Dyche is confident they can do.

“I don’t overthink it, but it is a reminder we have to stay to task and keep our energy levels and our Eye of the Tiger - which we definitely have been - but also our quality,” said Dyche who felt the effort and magnitude of beating Spurs in their last home game had a bearing on the St James’ Park loss.

“It’s hard to measure, but you have a super-big result, playing the big boys, and the next one, you just wonder how is that going to affect the feel,” said Dyche.

“Sometimes that’s a learning curve but we’ve done that well and delivered and delivered.

“But maybe (at Newcastle) was the one, maybe if that was a Saturday game you get that strange, wonderful feeling of beating the big boys, and have that clear week.

“Maybe this was just too quick, but Saturday we’ll be back.”

Despite seeing Burnley’s best top flight unbeaten run in a generation end, Dyche is not too disheartened as he focuses on the remaining 10 games of the season.

“It’s strange how you all think,” he added. “We’ve just been unbeaten in eight and it’s immediately ‘oh...’ I don’t think it’s time for that.

“The second half was more pleasing, we were back looking like we could affect the game.

“All I’ve been speaking about is performance levels and the next game and that’s what I continue to do. It’s a good mindset to have.”
