BURNLEY boss Sean Dyche admits there is a chance one of his England international goalkeepers will look to move on in the summer.

The Clarets chief is set to restore Nick Pope to the starting XI for the FA Cup fourth round trip to Manchester City on Saturday.

Tom Heaton, whose return to the team has coincided with Burnley picking up 10 points from 12, looks likely to retain his Premier League place for Tuesday night’s trip to Manchester United while Joe Hart, who started every top flight game prior to the Boxing Day defeat to Everton, is currently out of favour.

With Pope still working his way back to match fitness after a serious shoulder injury it seems unlikely that any of the keepers will move on this month.

But the summer could be a different matter.

Asked if he felt he could keep all three keepers happy for the rest of the season, Dyche said: “No. I can’t see that position. Not happy. They can get on with it. That’s a professional happiness. But happy is a completely different thing.

“With players, the first port of call is to get the shirt and play. The second one is to be involved and then there’s being out of the squad and I don’t think any pro wants that last one.

“Popey is at the end of his pre-season period. In another few weeks he will be another player challenging and then it’ll be difficult.

“Part of the clarity is they are all different. It can be difficult if you have three the same.

“There will definitely be one of them over time not so happy. That’s the way it goes and come the summer, there will probably be a period where that works itself out.”

Dyche knows he will soon have to make a call on his keepers with three fully-fit England internationals but isn’t worried about the selection poser.

“That is life as a goalkeeper, they know the demand,” he said. “They are well aware to know each other’s styles, standards and capabilities. They don’t sit there naively, they all look at each other and think well, we are all decent.

“They all know that I can only pick one, they all want the number one shirt and it will be an ongoing challenge.

“I think every manager wants the best squad or the best team they can have and you do get these hard decisions to make but there will be a decision that needs to be made and I will make it in due course as I see fit.”
