BURNLEY boss Sean Dyche insisted he is still be a believer in the magic of the FA Cup ahead of his side's trip to Manchester City in round four on Saturday.

The Clarets were knocked out at the Etihad Stadium in the third round last season and lost 5-0 in the Premier League earlier in this campaign.

Pep Guardiola's side, challenging on four fronts, will start as favourites but Dyche, who is set to make changes to his team, carries hopes of an upset.

“It’s not tongue in cheek, I’ve been through it myself with Chesterfield, written off by everyone and we got to a semi-final," said the Clarets chief.

"Who knows at Manchester City? You know you’ve got to play well, they’ve got to field a different team, they might have a bad day, the officials might go with you, but the fact is, strange results can happen.

"No one can put their finger on it, year after year, but the cup changes teams and mentalities.

"But we will need all those things because they are an absolute top side and they can change all 11 and still put our a team of worldwide stars."
