THE Match of the Day pundits understood Burnley boss Sean Dyche’s frustration at Chris Wood's late strike being chalked off for offside in the 0-0 draw at Watford on Saturday, writes Jonathan Massey.

The Clarets extended their unbeaten run to five games in all competitions but were denied a victory at Vicarage Road by the assistant referee's flag.

“He’s clearly onside,” said Danny Murphy speaking on Saturday night's programme. “Momentum takes him forward as the defender comes out and the linesman got it wrong.”

But the pundits saw positives in Burnley's display, with Clarets captain Tom Heaton coming in for praise.

His return to the side has coincided with 10 points from 12 league games.

Murphy added: "He (Dyche) should be pleased with the performance of his players, especially the goalkeeper.

“He’s a good keeper, but he’s had some problems, injury problems, but four games in and unbeaten - you can’t argue with that."
