WE take a look at how Nick Pope fared on his return to the Burnley XI after injury.

The goalkeeper made his first senior start for the Clarets since injuring his shoulder in the Europa League tie at Aberdeen in the summer.

Since then, the Clarets have signed Joe Hart while Tom Heaton has returned to full fitness to start the last two Premier League games leaving Turf boss Sean Dyche with a selection headache with all three of his England international goalkeepers fit.

Pope kept a clean sheet against Barnsley in the FA Cup third round tie on Saturday. Here’s how he fared.

KICK OFF: Pope was given a huge reception from the home faithful

2: The 26-year-old got a couple of early touches as he cleared Burnley back passes

17: Made a comfortable catch from a Barnsley corner.

21: Does well to move through a crowded penalty area to claim a right wing free kick

29: Again commanded his box well to claim a high ball

HALF TIME: The keeper was not forced into a save of note during the opening 45 minutes but impressed with his ability to collect crosses.

62: Perhaps the only time he put a foot wrong, the keeper slices a high clearance out of the ground after poor back pass

65: Comes out of his area well to clear a loose ball, demonstrating both a strong starting position and excellent reading of the game.

FULL TIME: Barnsley failed to have shot on target and in the end it was a comfortable afternoon’s work for Pope. He may well have to wait for another start with Dyche expected to start with Tom Heaton when the Clarets return to Premier League action at home to Fulham on Saturday.
