BURNLEY were labelled over physical by Arsenal boss Unai Emery in the wake of Saturday’s Premier League clash which the Gunners won 3-1.

Turf boss Sean Dyche criticised the home side’s players for going down to easily but Emery felt the Clarets’ were too aggressive.

Asked if he felt the game was over physical, the Arsenal boss said: “Yes. They are an aggressive team with one characteristic that is very clear in the game plan.

“But we have respect and we need to adapt in this moment for the long ball and the second action.

“They are more physical than us, that is normal. But we knew this situation in the game and we wanted to impose our moment with possession of the ball, with positioning on the pitch, with keeping the ball and progress with combinations, attacking the space in the first half.

“But we know that when they are with the ball they start with long balls and we needed to adapt to these moments.

“They are a very good team, organised and he (Dyche) is a good coach but physically it is normal they are stronger than us.”

On Dyche’s criticism at Arsenal players for diving, Emery added: “I don’t agree. It is not in my spirit.”

The two managers seemed to exchange angry words at the final whistle but Emery played down the clash.

“I think the most important thing is our victory,” he said. “The things that happen on the pitch between the players and us is our moment also.

“I think we need to have respect for the referee and respect between us.”
