THE transfer window madness has started already and despite being linked with a host of names in the British press, it’s actually one first touted in L’Equipe that signs up first.

I have to say the signing of Tottenham winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou (or GK for short) caught me a bit by surprise. I’ll be honest, I’ve never heard of him!

But, that said, what I read about him – and from him on social media – I’ve got very high hopes.

We’ve needed a bit of pace out wide for a while so it was pleasing to see Sean Dyche make this his priority, and get a signing through the Turf Moor doors so early in the window.

Spurs are a fit side so I think he’ll be ready to hit the ground running, hopefully at Crystal Palace this weekend.

GK certainly comes highly regarded from his time in France and his interactions of Twitter so far seem to suggest he has a decent attitude – always a key marker for Dyche and his coaching team.

Last weekend at the Etihad was a little disappointing but it was the toughest FA Cup draw imaginable.

I thought first half we were superb, getting at Manchester City at every opportunity and getting our noses in front at the right time.

We restricted City to half chances and it was just a shame that we conceded twice in as many minutes after the break to tip the tie back in Pep Guardiola’s side’s favour.

Still, there’s no shame losing to a team like City who I think may well go on to conquer all that lies in front of them.

With the FA Cup distractions out of the way, the trip to Palace is a chance to get back to winning ways in the league.

Roy Hodgson has, against my better judgement when he joined, done wonders since his arrival at Selhurst Park but the Eagles have plenty of injury worries and I fancy us to nick something.

A lot has been made in some quarters of the fact that we’re however many games without a win but I am sure Dyche and the lads won’t even be looking at that.

If we can get anywhere close to replicating our first half of the season form in the second half then who knows what might happen.

I can’t wait to get back to league action and I am sure the lads feel likewise!
