ACCRINGTON Stanley moved into the top half of League Two with a superb victory over Crewe Alexandra tonight.

Bobby Grant put Stanley ahead in the third minute with a superb volley from a tight angle before Michael Symes made it 2-0 just two minutes later, firing into an empty net from fully 40 yards after a poor kick by Crewe keeper Steve Collis.

Joel Grant pulled a goal back for Crewe just before half time after cutting inside Tom Lees, but Bobby Grant scored his second in the 49th minute to make it 3-1 after intercepting Danny O'Donnell's poor backpass.

Procter then went clear to rifle home a fourth and Symes added a fifth in similarly clinical fashion before Joel Grant and Luke Murphy pulled two goals back late on to restore some respectability for Crewe.
