Chorley’s promotion drive was given a jolt as struggling Harrogate Railway completed an unlikely double over the Magpies.
Garry Flitcroft’s side could easily have been a couple of goals ahead at half-time but Harrogate, in turn, might well have sealed victory long before their late winner.
Steve Foster gave Chorley a dream start with a well-taken goal after six minutes before Jon Maloney equalised with a dubious penalty on 16 minutes.
Colin Hunter fired Railway ahead in the 31st minute but Chorley levelled through Jack Dorney six minutes later from the spot to make it all level at the break.
But Simon Parkes late goal condemned Chorley to a shock defeat.
