Defender James Mullineux could be back at Victory Park tonight as a member of Radcliffe Borough’s squad against Leigh Genesis.
It is a home game for Leigh that has been switched because the Sports Village Stadium is not available.
Mully, who left the Magpies last week, almost five years after making his debut as a 16-year-old student, had not been in the team since the Curzon Ashton defeat on November 28.
He was twice voted the supporters’ Player of the Year, in 2007 and last season.
James played for Bolton Schools at Under-14 and Under-15 level and four years ago helped Lancashire FA win the Northern Counties Under-18 championship.
Chorley manager Steve Waywell said: “I’m sorry to see Mully go, because he is a smashing lad with a big heart who has always given his best for the club.”
