I USED to live with a Blackburn fan and I’m sure I’ll be getting a phone call from him if they win on Sunday. I’ll certainly be phoning him if Burnley win!

We always have good banter and he has always said that the only thing he doesn’t like about me is that I scored the goal that kept Burnley in the Football League!

We got telegrams from all around the world in those days from people saying thjey were glad we didn’t go out of the league, but I know there would have been a few Blackburn fans at Turf Moor that day wanting Burnley to get relegated.

I think a lot of Blackburn fans did want us to go out of the league, although I know there were a few that didn’t as well.

And after nearly going out of the league it would be great to finally get a win against Blackburn because I thought we were unlucky when we lost 2-1 in the cup replay in 2005.

I know there were plenty of Blackburn fans who wanted Burnley to get promoted last season because of this derby match.

I won’t be going to game on Sunday, though. I might have gone if I could have gone in the car, but not if it means sitting on a coach for three hours and then being ushered in.

My brother is coming down from Scotland so I will be watching it in a public house somewhere, and I just hope it will be a good result for Burnley.

We haven’t done brilliantly away from home this season but I don’t see why we can’t get at least a point, maybe all three.

A draw would be a bit of a moral victory, particularly because it would be the first point on the board away from home. It would be nice if we could get that first away goal, too.

There won’t be as many Burnley fans there as there were for the FA Cup game, because I think they’ve only got about 2,000 tickets, but they will still make a lot of noise.

And our win against Birmingham last Saturday will have given us a lot of confidence.

The team looked a little bit more solid against Birmingham. They played 4-4-2 and I think they’ll stick with the same team.

At the start of the season there was nobody really in midfield who was a hard tackler but now they’ve stuck Andre Bikey in and he can do that if necessary on Sunday.

I think the next two home games are games Burnley would be looking at to pick up points, but I’ve always said they’ll get points from games when you least expect them to.

Hopefully it will be this Sunday
