Tom Heaton 6

Had very little to do all afternoon, aside from pick the ball out of his net when he was let down by his defence.

Matt Lowton 6

Made a very shaky start when he gifted an early chance to McLean, but did improve after that.

James Tarkowski 6

Strong in the air but outmuscled for the goal by Hal Robson-Kanu when he should really have won that battle.

Ben Mee 7

Sent a first half header wide when he probably should have scored. Solid defensively and distribution better.

Stephen Ward 5

Given a tough time of things by Matt Phillips and nowhere near strong enough in the tackle for the goal.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson 6

Had a couple of first half chances and put some dangerous balls in, but almost always cut back inside on to his left foot.

Steven Defour 7

A first 90 minutes in the Premier League and a good performance. Looks much better in this deeper role.

Jack Cork 8 (Man of the Match)

Positionally excellent to break up play and try and launch Burnley attacks and his movement to find space in midfield was good. Partnership with Defour in a deeper midfield two looks very promising.

Robbie Brady 6

Took on the creative mantle and there were positive signs, but he tended to drift infield a lot and his influence drifted as the game went on.

Jeff Hendrick 6

Always in position to pick up second balls from Vokes. Had a few shots, but should have left late chance to Cork.

Sam Vokes 6

Hold-up play was good when Burnley went direct but had a couple of headed chances that he could have done better with.
