NEW Chorley manager Gerry Luczka has shown his ruthless streak by axing five players from his squad ahead of tomorrow's trip to Bradford Park Avenue.
Michael Duffy, Michael Owens, Shaun Foster, Robert Dutton and James Quadrio have all been shown the door at Victory Park as Luczka continues his rebuilding work.
And the Magpies chief is hoping to draft in two more new faces in the next 24 hours as he seeks to inject more quality into his relegation-haunted side.
"It's major surgery and I'm still at a stage where I've got to make my mind up about a few more of the lads, too," said Luczka.
"Chopping and changing doesn't help matters, but it's something that has to be done if we are to move forward as a club.
"My intention is to rebuild the team but I promised all of the lads I'd give them the chance to prove themselves first.
"Unfortunately, some of them are not what I'm looking for in our current situation which is why I've had to let them go."
