A WEEK after Greenmount pair Chesney Hughes and Andy Kerr set a league best partnership of 320 runs, the Lancashire League record books were rewritten once again when Church scored 400-4 - the highest by any team.

Openers Craig Fergusson (86) and Sam Holt (83) set Church on their way to a 174-run win at Rawtenstall ,with captain Levi Wolfenden hitting a quick fire 66.

But those efforts were topped by professional Sagar Trivedi’s incredible 33-ball knock of 116 that included 13 sixes and seven fours.

Rawtenstall gave it a go in reply, bowled out for 226 with Matt Kershaw top scoring with 55. Trivedi followed up his mighty innings by taking 3-52 while Andrew Bentley took 4-71.

The win takes Church up to third place in Division Two, seven points behind leaders Littleborough, who enjoyed a six wicket win over Greenmount.

Haslingden stay in second place after beating Nelson thanks largely to an unbeaten knock of 106 from sub pro Mini Bhada.

Nelson’s pro, Usman Tariq also scored a century, his 105 helping the home side post 214-5 - Saj Asghar also scored an unbeaten 53.

In reply, Haslingden lost their first two wickets for 28 runs but Bhada - who plays for Ribblesdale League leaders Feniscowles - and Matt Griffin (56) helped secure a sixth win off the season.

In the ‘basement battle’ between struggling Bacup and Great Harwood, it was Bacup who came out on top, sealing victory with just two balls to spare.

Great Harwood posted 275-5 with Kasir Masood top scoring with 96, run out just four runs short of a century. Opener Matt Oddie scored 80 with professional Thikshila de Silva weighing in with 52.

In reply, Simon Newbitt (26) and Matt Collinge (81) shared an opening stand of 62 before pro Hasnain Abbas scored 53. Vital knocks by Aaron Fielding (20), Jack Bradford (23) and Matt Thompson (34no) guided Bacup home.

East Lancs slipped to a 43-run defeat at Enfield despite Paul Turner scoring a superb unbeaten 112.

Turner’s knock came as East Lancs chased Enfield’s 269-8 total where Yasir Ali top scored with 71. Phil Aspinall (4-36) was the pick of the East Lancs bowlers.

In reply, Adam Bolton, with 44, was the only other player to reach double figures as East Lancs scored 226-6 - Ben Dowling taking 3-27 for Enfield.

Tom Walker took 6-53 but could not prevent Accrington slipping to defeat at Rishton, who were bowled out for 153 - Saj Patel top scoring with 40.

Accrington lost their first four wickets for seven runs and barely recovered as they were dismissed for 93 - Brad Boddie (4-28), Andrew Hickey (3-22) and Kian Farnworth (3-28) taking the wickets.

In Division One, Burnley beat second-placed Walsden by 32 runs.

Professional Ockert Erasmus topped scored with 54 in Burnley’s 128 all out total then took 5-22 as Walsden were bowled out for 96 - Bharat Tripathi (3-38) and Jack Hargreave (2-9) also in the wickets.

Norden are 10 points clear at the top after winning at Todmorden. Professional Ashar Zaidi scored an unbeaten 138 in Norden’s 254-4 then took 4-40 as Todmorden closed on 167-9 -Matt Collins hit an unbeaten 33, while Andrew Sutcliffe (31) and Bilal Abbas (28) also contributed.

Lowerhouse lost by five wickets at Crompton. Batting first, Lowerhouse scored 193-9 thanks to Stephen Parry (43), Jonny Whitehead (38), Dean Barlow (37) and skipper Ben Heap (32).

Crompton reached their total for the lost of five wickets.

Darwen were bowled out for 120 as they lost by seven wickets to Clitheroe with Sam Halstead claiming 6-34. John Cordingley (35) top scored for Darwen.

Jack Dewhurst (44no) and professional Mansoor Amjad (40) helped seal victory for Clitheroe.

Ramsbottom’s five-game losing run is over after beating Rochdale by 23 runs.

Professional Daryn Smit hit a superb 117 in Ramsbottom’s 186-8 total with Jonny Dack (28) and Jonny Fielding (10) the only other players to hit double figures.

In reply, Rochdale were bowled out for 163 with Fielding (4-21) and Josh Dentith (3-36) doing the damage.

James Price hit an unbeaten 140 as Middleton (242-5) won by five wickets at Colne who had earlier scored 241-9 with sub professional Harsha Rajapaksha top scoring with 72.
