Eleanor Markendale has been selected for England Schools for the first time in her career.
The Pendle Athletic Club star finished fourth in the seven-event heptathon at last weekend's English Schools Combined Events Championships at Derby where she competed in the intermediate age group.
The first four have been chosen to represent their country at the Schools International to be held in Glasgow during the second week of December.
At the Moorways Stadium, Eleanor scored 4381 points which was close to her best, and she set a personal best of 1.60m in the high jump, an improvement of four centimetres.
Eleanor attends Clitheroe Royal Grammar School, and a fellow student, Heather Donald of Hyndburn AC, was competing in the senior girls' heptathlon at Derby. She finished 22nd with 3406 points.
