* Clayton-le-Moors will be holding their Annual Presentation of Awards for 2010 on Saturday at Mytton Fold Hotel, Langho.

* The Bleasdale Fell Race on Saturday has a new start time of 2pm – contrary to the original entry in the FRA Calendar.

The venue is Bleasdale Parish Hall near Preston. Race distance is five miles including 1,250 feet of climb.

You can enter on the day but parking will be restricted so you are asked to car-share if possible.

* Todmorden Harriers are the organisers of the Noonstone Fell Race, which is on Saturday at noon.

The route is nine miles long with 2,300 feet of ascent starting at the Top Brink Inn, Lumbutts.

Entry is on the day and as at Bleasdale, car parking will be scarce.

* The SE Lancs Cross Country League reaches its conclusion at Boggart Hole, Blackley on Saturday.

Races are in age group order starting with the U11s at 1pm through to the senior men at 2.30pm.

* The race in memory Lynn Hindle, John McDonough and Brian Hargreaves will go ahead as planned on Sunday at 11.15am from the Falcon Inn, Church Street, Littleborough (A58 Halifax Road).

However, due to road resurfacing work, the route has been changed and will now follow a five mile course over the tops.

The event commemorates the lives of Blackburn Road Runner Lynn who won five gold medals in two appearances at the World Transplant Games, as well as Todmorden Harrier stalwarts John and Brian.

Part of the money raised will help Bryce Butterworth of Pendle Athletic Club to reach the World Transplant Games in Gothenburg this summer with the rest going to the Children of Chernobyl Project. You are asked to pool vehicles and use the Police Station and Health Centre Car Park.

* The Lostock Six Mile Road Race is on Sunday at 11am. Registration and prize giving are at Barnstormers, Lostock Lane, Lostock, near Horwich, Bolton BL6 4BL. Entries on the day will be taken subject to a race limit of 500.

* The Long Distance Walkers Association have a Challenge Event suitable for runners or walkers on Sunday.

The Peeler’s Hike is 22 miles for runners while walkers have a choice with a family walk of 15m also on offer.

Both routes start from Bury District Scout HQ, Millett Street, Bury BL9 0HQ, the walkers at 8am and the runners and family walkers at 9.30pm.

The run and longer walk visits Elton Reservoir, Affetside and Peel Tower, Holcombe Moor to Helmshore, returning along the Irwell Valley. You can enter on the day. For more details call Paul Raine on 01204 494572.

* The 22nd Great North West Half Marathon is fully subscribed so no more entries are being accepted.

The race is on Sunday at Blackpool’s North Promenade starting at 11am at the Norbreck Castle Hotel.

The two lap course follows the upper walkways and cycle tracks and the outer promenade between North Pier and Little Bispham.

* Pendle Forest Orienteers have recently started a club night in Colne at Primet High School on Dent Street BB8 8JF.

It takes place on Tuesdays from 6.30pm to 8pm and until April 19 it will be free thanks to sponsorship by Pendle Leisure Trust.

You don’t have to be a member to come along, but U10s must come with an adult. Sessions will be suitable for complete beginners but will be run by qualified orienteering coaches.

The club night on Wednesdays at Rawtenstall will continue to run as usual at St Nicholas C of E Primary School, Newchurch, BB4 7UA, next to Staghills Woods, from 6.30-8pm.
