Laura Finucane has finished sixth in the World University Games in Bangkok.
Competing in the women's 800 metres on Tuesday, the Pendle Athletic Club member, who celebrated her 21st birthday earlier this month, clocked 2:03.18 seconds.
Finucane had been a late addition to the Great Britain team after finishing sixth over the same distance at the European U23 Championships in Hungary last month, and she fully justified her selection by safely negotiating two qualifying rounds.
She was timed at 2:05.57 in the fastest of four heats, then 2:05.25 in the slower of the semi-finals. Fellow Brit Charlotte Best won the bronze medal in 2:01.50.
The Colne athlete has recently been selected by Dame Kelly Holmes to receive an "On Camp with Kelly" Excellent Achievement Award, supported by Norwich Union, in recognition of her performances this season, together with a grant to use towards expenses relating to training and competition.
Dame Kelly said: "Laura has performed brilliantly this season, with the support of her coach and family.
"I am very proud of what she has achieved and I am looking forward to seeing her progress even further next season."
