It was a matter of "if at first you don't succeed" for Darwen Dasher Shane Gudgeon, who completed the Snowdonia Marathon in a fine 3:29, a week after being forced to retire from the Abingdon Marathon at half distance.
Richard Instone of Blackburn Road Runners clocked 3:53, and the former Rossendale Harrier Louise Cooper was third woman in 3:16.
Blackburn Harriers Graham and Mary Pomfret favoured the Dublin Marathon where they returned respective times of 3:38 and 6:19.
