NEW Rovers signing Okera Simmonds is targeting a place in the first team squad having joined from Liverpool.
The 18-year-old has signed an 18-month contract at Ewood Park having impressed on trial and will initially link up with Rovers' Under-23 squad.
The forward, a former England Under-16 international, has featured in the last two games for Damien Johnson's side.
And he is ready to hit the ground running.
"I'm really happy that everything has gone through. I just can't wait to get started fully," Simmonds said.
"I'm an exciting forward who likes to beat people and score goals. I like to work hard and do my job for the team.
"I've really enjoyed working with Damien and Dunny (David Dunn) so far, I've already learned a lot, and my long-term goal is to get into the first team."
