THE woman who prostituted a 14-year-old schoolgirl out to a Padiham builder has been jailed for five years.
Leanne Gilder, 26, was found guilty of controlling child prostitution, after a trial at Manchester Crown Court.
She faced trial alongside Michael Booth, 44, of Moor Lane, Padiham, who was convicted of sexual assault, causing, or inciting, a child to engage in sexual activity, and paying for the sexual services of a child.
The court heard that Gilder, from Oldham, had taken the 14-year-old to Manchester’s red light district after giving her drugs.
A three-day trial heard that Booth handed over £60 before abusing the girl in the back of his van. The girl described her ordeal to police after she was found at an address in Oldham.
Booth said he had not known the girl was under 18, and had no reason to believe she was any younger. Last month he was sentenced to six years, with an extended four-year licence period.
