GEORGE Miller’s superb goal cancelled out a strike from former Burnley forward Steven Thompson as Accrington Stanley’s pre-season friendly with St Mirren ended all square.

Thompson, part of the Clarets’ promotion-winning squad three years ago, had put the visitors in front with 16 minutes remaining to the delight of the travelling fans.

But Miller found the top corner from outside the box to level the match only two minutes later.

Stanley handed a trial appearance to 38-year-old former Liverpool keeper Tony Warner and ended the game with fellow stopper Ian Dunbavin up front following a late injury.
