CHRIS McCann remains an ever-present in the Championship after recovering from the hamstring injury in time to face Watford at Vicarage Road.

The Clarets captain was forced off before the break in the home defeat to Millwall.

He is re-joined in central midfield by Dean Marney, who also missed last weekend's game after his wife gave birth to their first child hours earlier.

Josh McQuoid returns to the side after being refused permission to play against parent club Millwall.

The Northern Ireland international comes straight back in for Keith Treacy, who has been dropped from the squad.

Marvin Bartley, who came in for Marney last weekend, is named among the substitutes.

Martin Paterson started for Northern Ireland in midweek and played 73 minutes, but must settle for a place on the bench this afternoon, with manager Eddie Howe perhaps hoping he will have an impact later in the game.

Central defenders Michael Duff and David Edgar were also on international duty this week.

Meanwhile, striker Jay Rodriguez goes into this afternoon's game at Vicarage Road just one away from the magical 20-goal mark.
