CLITHEROE manager Chris Stammers reckons there is no crisis at Shawbridge, despite losing two home games on the bounce and failing to score on both occasions.

But he believed it would be a huge test of character to see how his side responds when they travel to face Woodley Sports tonight.

He said: "I wouldn't class it as a crisis because we are creating chances, now we've just got to be a bit more clinical in front of goal like we were earlier in the season.

"To be honest though, if you'd said to me at the start of the season that, at this stage, we would be sixth in the league, then I would've taken it."

Woodley, who play on an astroturf pitch, are coming off the back of an excellent result after beating Conference North side Leigh RMI in the FA Cup.

And Stammers said he was expecting a tough game.

"Sometimes things like that can be a blessing in disguise for the opposition team.

"We had it at Burscough, when we were doing well in the cup, we began to take our eye off the ball in the league."

Chris Matthews, who was substituted at half time on Saturday with an injured shoulder, is a doubt.
