ACCRINGTON Stanley will aim to build on their stunning home record and possibly even move into the League Two play-off places when they host Barnet tomorrow.

The Reds have moved to ninth position following their 2-0 win at Burton, which extended their unbeaten run in the league to 10 matches. Victory could see them remarkably climb into the top seven if two of Gillingham, Oxford and Burton slip up.

And for Stanley a home match against the Bees, 20th in the table and managed by former Northern Ireland boss Lawrie Sanchez, is a fixture that brings back happy memories of last season’s rise to the play-offs.

Jimmy Ryan scored an incredible hat-trick, with all three goals coming from outside the box, as Accrington beat Barnet 3-1 last April to confirm their place in the League Two play-offs.

That was the culmination of a home run that saw the Reds take 31 points from their final 11 fixtures at the Crown last season.

Stanley had the second best home record in League Two during 2010/11, behind champions Ches-terfield, and few relish the trip to Accrington.

The continuation of that strong form in recent weeks now means that they have collected more points than any other League Two side at home since the start of last season.

John Coleman’s side have won their last four home matches – securing victories over Bristol Rovers, Dagenham and Redbridge, Tor-quay and Maccles-field.

As a result, Stanley have now won an impressive 22 of their 35 home fixtures in League Two since August 2010, collecting 72 points.

Shrewsbury, renowned for their good home form, have picked up 69 points from 34 games.

This season’s League Two leaders Crawley currently have the best home record in the division during 2011/12, but they were in the Blue Square Premier last term.

Ian Craney could be in contention for a starting place for Stanley tomorrow after scoring twice in Tuesday’s Lancashire Senior Cup victory over Oldham, who had former Reds loan keeper Dean Bouzanis in goal.

Danny Coid scored Stanley’s other goal.

n Will Hatfield has been released from his contract at Leeds after recently returning to Elland Road following the end of his loan spell with Stanley.

Hatfield has been on trial at Lincoln City.
