ACCRINGTON Stanley continued their fine record against Lancashire rivals Morecambe with a Boxing Day win at the Globe Arena in League Two.

The Reds were unbeaten in their last nine derby matches against Morecambe going into the game and secured victory thanks to Bryan Hughes’ 75th-minute winner.

On-loan Bournemouth striker Jayden Stockley put Stanley ahead in the 34th minute when he scored from six yards after Kevin Long had met Craig Lindfield’s cross.

Morecambe levelled 10 minutes after the interval when Stewart Drummond found the net after a save from Ian Dunbavin, but Hughes netted the winner 15 minutes from time as he curled home a superb effort from the edge of the box.
