PADIHAM secretary Alan Smith is hoping to progress to the third round of the FA Vase and a payday for the club tomorrow against Yorkshire side Askern Villa.
The Storks go in to the tie having beaten Oldham Boro in the first round last month and Smith knows the competition provides a big cash incentive.
Smith said: “So far this season the club has spent around £4,000 more than it has got in. A win on Saturday gives us £1,200 and that money will be a big help for us financially.”
Smith believes the The Storks have a fantastic opportunity to get in to the last 64.
“It’s a big event for the club and we have a great chance of getting through against a side who are struggling in their league,” he said. “But we’re not taking anything for granted.”
Askern Villa currently lie second from bottom in the Northen Counties East Division One table.
