Blackburn Hawks anticipate a difficult challenge tonight as they prepare to face Scottish champions Fife Flyers their second Northern Ice Hockey League fixture.
But Hawks make the long journey north to Fife in fine form, currently unbeaten in their first five games of the new season.
General manager Graham Lomax, suitably impressed by the sensational start, has warned his charges to expect a difficult contest up at the Fife Ice Arena.
"Fife are a good team, one of the best around," insisted Lomax. "We have made a pleasing opening to the term, but this will prove a very tough game. We aren't getting too carried away just yet. They have a great set-up and history, but we will, of course, give it our best shot.
"We may rest a few of the more experienced lads, so it could be a young team out on the ice for us. It will be great experience for whoever plays.
"There is an amazing atmosphere, so regardless of the result, the lads will benefit from playing at such a venue against such a quality outfit."
Hawks return to English National Ice Hockey League action tomorrow as Sheffield arrive at the Arena (face-off 6pm).
Following an impressive seven points from their opening four league games, Hawks sit top of the league and Lomax is confident of adding another victory.
"The league is our priority this season," he said.
