Burnley's 16-year-old youth team goalkeeper Jack Baker has had his contract terminated by mutual consent.
The Liverpudlian, who joined the Clarets this summer after being released by Crewe Alexandra, had been suffering from homesickness.
Vince Overson, head of youth development at Burnley, said: "Jack was clearly struggling to come to terms with the transition from schoolboy to full time training and this, combined with his homesickness, has led us to terminate his contract with immediate effect."
