Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts could have an outside chance of being fit for next week's UEFA Cup first round second leg with Red Bull Salzburg.
Roberts has missed the last three games with a groin injury, and will also sit out Saturday's Premiership trip to Middlesbrough.
However, manager Mark Hughes has not ruled out the possibility of the former Wigan man being ready in time to face the Austrians at Ewood next Thursday.
