Blackburn Rovers are unlikely to make a shock move for former Ewood Park striker Chris Sutton.
The 33-year-old free agent has courted the attention of potential suitors following his release from Birmingham at the end of last season.
Rovers manager Hughes already has Benni McCarthy, Jason Roberts, Shabani Nonda and Francis Jeffers in his attacking ranks, so a move for Sutton is unexpected.
During five seasons at Ewood Park, Sutton bagged 50 goals before making a £10,000,000 move to Chelsea.
Earlier this week, Rovers dismissed speculation linking them with West Ham's veteran striker Teddy Sheringham.
