BURNLEY have dropped their interest in Coventry City forward Lukas Jutkiewicz.
Boss Eddie Howe is understood to have made an enquiry about Jutkiewicz but both the Clarets and Coventry have denied that it went as far as formal talks, despite reports that the Sky Blues had turned down a £1.5m offer for the 22-year-old.
Coventry chief executive Paul Clouting saying: “We have had no approach or bid for Lukas.”
Sources in the Midlands had indicated that the Sky Blues were nevertheless bracing themselves for a potential bid for Jutkiewicz, born in England but of English origin.
It is now understood, however, that Burnley have ended their interest in the former Everton forward and turned their attention to other targets, with some funds still available following the sale of Chris Eagles and Tyrone Mears to Bolton.
