ACCRINGTON Stanley chief executive Rob Heys says fees for the departure of three key players look set to be decided by tribunal.

Stanley lost out-of-contract trio Jimmy Ryan, Terry Gornell and Sean McConville to Scunthorpe, Shrewsbury and Stockport respectively this summer.

However, they are entitled to fees under the terms of the Bosman ruling because all three are under the age of 24.

The Reds have already agreed a fee with Oldham for Alex Cisak, who left under similar circumstances, but have been unable to reach consensus with the other three buying clubs.

Tribunals may not take place for some time but Stanley are prepared to wait for their money rather than accept cut-price fees.

“Peter Marsden is handling the negotiations but I don’t think we’ve got any closer to agreeing fees so it looks like they might well go to tribunal,” said Heys.

“I don’t know when the tribunals would take place because they have to put together a panel and find a venue, so it tends to vary.

“But it’s not like we’re desperate for the money so we can bide our time.

“We’re not in the same (financial) situation as we were in previously, so it has given us the option if we can’t reach agreement to have the fee decided by an independent panel.”
