BURNLEY have had a bid accepted by Preston North End for winger Keith Treacy.

The Republic of Ireland international was pulled out of Preston’s friendly with Wigan today after the Deepdale club accepted a fourth offer for the 22-year-old.

Treacy now has to agree personal terms with the Clarets.

Preston chairman Maurice Lindsay said: “I have personally turned down three offers from Burnley for Keith but their final offer had to be accepted.

“The offer for Keith, which was all the cash upfront, was one that we could not refuse.”

Lindsay added: “Burnley’s offer today was conditional upon an immediate agreement which meant that Keith would be unable to play (against Wigan).

“I suppose they were making sure that he avoided any injury. Either way, we had no option.”
