ACCRINGTON Stanley chairman Ilyas Khan is due to be at tonight’s shareholders meeting to answer fans’ questions about the club’s new share issue.
Stanley called the meeting last month and Khan’s plans for a share issue are expected to be one of the main subjects of discussions at the gathering, which shareholders can attend in the club’s Sports Bar at 7pm.
Khan completed his takeover of Stanley in April and has long expressed his intention to issue new shares to raise funds and allow fans greater involvement in the club.
Those plans were formally announced earlier this month and full details about the issue are due to be released shortly.
Khan remains based in Surrey but is set to be at tonight’s meeting and will speak to fans about his plans for the club.
“You have to have an annual meeting so it’s a formality as much as anything,” said chief executive Rob Heys about the meeting.
“But Ilyas will be there and there will be a question and answer session so it is a chance for fans to ask him any questions they might have.
"I’m sure the share issue will come up.”
