BLACKBURN Rovers boss Steve Kean is hopeful of signing two more unnamed players in the next couple of days as he closes in on Serbian midfielder Radosav Petrovic.

Kean is waiting on at least two other bids for players, understood to be a striker and a defender, as his Premier League plans begin to take shape.

The Scot yesterday denied it was proving difficult to persuade players to come to Rovers.

“If a player’s coming from a club that’s playing European football then I think it’s going to be difficult to attract them,” he said.

“If we can take them from different areas of the world and show them what we’re trying to do, then I don’t think it’s a hard sell.”

Kean added: “We’ve got a very good budget and we’re looking to strengthen in areas that we need to improve on from last season.

"We've got three or four active bids that are actually out there and we're just waiting for confirmation those bids have been accepted.

"There's two or three that are quite far down the line so we're confident we'll have bodies in and we'll be adding to the squad.

"We'll be spending. We've got a very good budget and we're looking to strengthen in areas that we need to improve on from last season.

"We don't have to sell before we buy because we're trying to keep the majority of the squad together.

"It is a fixed budget, it's competitive and will bring in players of good quality."

Rovers are hopeful striker Benjani will sign a new one-year deal at the club, although he is now unlikely to join them in Hong Kong.
