TALKS are still ongoing in an attempt to bring Monaco defender Cedric Mongongu to Blackburn Rovers.
However, it is understood there are still a number of issues still be resolved for all parties.
Brazilian trialist Bruno Ribeiro has returned home but, having ended his contract with Gremio Prudente, could yet be signed by Rovers permanently.
The right back would prefer a move to Ewood Park but also has a number of other options in Brazil.
Rovers also remain hopeful striker Benjani will join up with them in Hong Kong, as he considers an improved offer to stay at the club for another season.
As reported by the Lancashire Telegraph last night, Rovers have submitted a bid for 22-year-old Serbian international midfielder Radosav Petrovic.
Rovers are looking to bolster their depleted squad ahead of the Premier League kick off in three weeks.
