BURNLEY manager Eddie Howe was pleased with the overall performance in the first of Burnley’s six pre-season friendlies at Altrincham on Saturday.
Howe said: “It was a good work-out. We scored some good goals in the first half and looked very lively.
“There was a setback at the beginning of the second half but we responded well and the lads came through it unscathed, which is the main thing at this stage.
“It’s early days. We’ve only been back just over a week and the lads have put a lot of hard work in.
“I’ve been delighted with everything we’ve done so far.
"We’ve got a lot of work to do but this is all part of the training exercise.
"That main thing at this stage is not picking up any injury and so far we haven’t.”
