ST CHRISTOPHER’S made sure it was a winning double after clinching the first ever Accrington RL Cup.
After taking part in a six-week coaching programme, includ-ing after-school clubs, Accrington Academy, Hollins, Mount Carmel and St Christopher’s put their new found skills to the test.
Due to the high level of interest, each school had squads of 15 players. St Christopher’s emerged victors with Mount Carmel runners-up.
“There was lots of great tackling and handing skills on show and there wasn’t a lot between the schools,” said East Lancs community coach Neil Quinn
