FORMER Blackburn Rovers and Everton striker Francis Jeffers has been invited to Accrington Stanley’s first day of pre-season training today.
Stanley have invited Jeffers, currently a free agent but a friend of assistant Jimmy Bell, to train with them.
Should he decide to take up their invitation, it will initially be to build up fitness.
The 30-year-old’s wages likely to be beyond the Reds’ reach unless he is forced to lower his sights later in the summer.
