CHAIRMAN turned manager Carl Garner reckons his bunch of local players are a credit to Clitheroe – and would love to be able to field more than 11 of them at once.
Garner took over in the Shawbridge hotseat following the resignation of Pete Smith and has since led his men to six games unbeaten.
That has delighted Garner, who quit as chaiman in order to take his seat in the dugout, and he said: “They’ve given me everything. It’s a shame I can only play 11 of them at the moment.
“A lot of them are locally-based and their attitude has been exemplary.
“I owe it to the club, myself and the players to have a look at these lads. The current exercise is to win as many games as we can while trying to give everyone a chance.
“It’s a building block for next season.”
The Blues are in derby action on Good Friday when they travel to local rivals Chorley.
