Craig Ferguson: We had an excellent season last year and got to fifth place but our aim is to improve on that, as it is every year. We have a top professional in Saeed and he is a class act and we have won all of our pre-season games which is a good omen. I am really proud to lead the side. I grew up at Church and while I did have some time away this is my club and I can’t wait for Sunday.

Prediction: A pro with a proven record in league cricket to add to an already strong amateur side means Church will not notice the loss of the runs of Ammer Mirza this season.
