GREAT Harwood Rovers U14s clinched the league title in emphatic fashion with a wonderful 12-0 win over Blackburn Eagles.

It was Rovers 15th straight victory as they clocked up 150 goals for the season – 34 of which fell to leading scorer Connor Mahoney.

Winger George Carter lead the goal charge, scoring four times to take make it 12 for the campaign.

But Mahoney once again showed he had his shooting boots, scoring a hat-trick to cap a fine season in front of goal.

Joe Blackledge also bagged a treble while captain Jack Hargreaves and Aaron Phillipson completed the scoring with two wonderful goals.

And they rounded off their championship-winning season with a 5-1 win over Mill Hill to finish five points clear at the top of the table. Blackledge followed up his hat-trick with a brace while Carter and Harg-reaves scored again along with Scott Sykes.

Former Burnley player Gerry Harrison was on hand at Wilson’s Playing Fields to hand over the league trophy.

Manager Nigel Sutton said: “It was a thoroughly deserved league title and it capped off a superb season.

“Every player improved technically, physically and mentally. Well done to all the lads.”
