Manchester City loanee Roque Santa Cruz was again forced off early in the second half of Blackburn Rovers' 2-0 defeat at Everton with a hamstring injury.
But, with him ineligible for Monday’s visit of his parent club, Kean is hopeful he will fit for the last four games.
“Where he’s feeling it is the same place where there was fluid on it when it was scanned so I don’t know if it’s back or if it’s psychological,” said Kean.
"It’s in the back of his mind and he’s protecting it in his first few steps.
“We’ll get him back in with the medical team and we’ll get another scan on it.
"Hopefully it’s not a big one and we can get him available for the last few games.”
