BLACKBURN’S Dezzi Higginson is confident he can produce the greatest shock of his career tonight and defeat Ireland’s undefeated hot-shot Andy Murray.

The 28-year-old lightweight (below) has won 13 of his 22 professional bouts as he prepares to fight on Amir Khan’s world title defence undercard at the 21,000-capacity MEN Arena.

It represents the biggest stage of Higginson’s professional career and he faces his toughest opponent in the shape of Cavan-born Murray, who is ranked the sixth best lightweight in Europe.

“I feel great and I’m ready to show everyone what I’m about,” said the Hatton Promotions boxer, who trains at Lower Darwen’s Fit2XL Gym.

“I’ve trained well. I feel strong and quick and I’m looking forward to it.

“It’s a big night for me. Andy Murray’s record speaks for itself, he’s a top, top boxer. But I’ve got the skills and the gameplan to beat him.

“I’ve got a rowdy bunch of fans coming to support me and, sometimes, they’re like a second person for me in the ring.”
