Tom Davidson: "We went close last year in the Ramsbottom Cup but maybe that came just a year too soon for us.
"We are a young team and we have strengthened with a couple of experienced players.
"We are looking at an improvement on last year and our aim is to try and hit the top four in the league.
"It is going to be tight and the likes of Read and Barnoldswick have signed some really good players – but that only helps lift the standard."
Prediction: Last year’s pro Harry Boam is a big miss for the Yorkshiremen – but no–one will get an easy day when they go to Marshfield and Settle could ruffle a few feathers.
