Jay Rodriguez could return to the Burnley side against Swansea City tomorrow after missing Tuesday's trip to the City Ground with a hip injury.
“There's possibly a chance for him,” said Howe.
“He played through a couple of games with it but we decided to rest him because it was slowly getting worse.
“He does perhaps come back in for (tomorrow).”
Rodriguez's Burnley and England Under 21 team-mate Jack Cork is expected to be available for selection after coming through his first game since the heart scare he suffered on international duty last month unscathed.
“I think it will be a big relief for him,” said Howe.
“I thought he was outstanding on Tuesday, he performed very well.
“It was almost as if the little break had done him the world of good and he came through with no adverse affects, which was the main thing from his point of view, and from ours.
“He was certainly tested with 10 men for 60 minutes. He came through fine.”
