HAVING put up a brave fight against leaders New Mills following a four match unbeaten run, Colne were brought crashing back to earth at Maine Road.
Despite Danny Boyle cancelling out Declan O’Shea’s second minute strike for the hosts, Colne were completely overrun after the break.
Liam Beckford put Maine Road back in the lead in the 65th minute before goals from Ed Wildeman (69) and an Eddie Moran penalty (79) sealed the win.
Colne’s misery was complete when Billy Priestley was sent off.
