PADIHAM added another scalp to their fast growing list when they beat Congelton Town at the Arbories.
Paul Fildes made it 24 goals for the season when he tucked away a 16th minute penalty, given for hand ball, to ensure the Storks led at half time.
Padiham had a luck escape on 52 minutes when Congelton had a goal disallowed and, as so often happens, the Storks took full advantage of their let-off to increase the lead four minutes.
Martin Parkes rose to head home a fine cross from Stuart Telfer on 51 minutes to give Padiham their 2-0 winning margin.
The Storks need just one more point to better last season’s total with seven games still to play.
