ON-LOAN Everton defender Shane Duffy makes his debut against Ipswich Town this afternoon, as captain Clarke Carlisle is dropped to the bench.

Manager Eddie Howe, who has made four changes from Burnley's last outing, has hand Dean Marney the captain's armband following his recovery from the knee injury that kept him out of the last game against Bristol City, where the Clarets lost 2-0.

The midfielder replaces Jack Cork, who returned to Chelsea on Tuesday for medical monitoring after suffering heart palpitations while on international duty with England Under 21s.

Nathan Delfouneso is restored to the starting line-up following a goalscoring performance for the Under 21s against Iceland on Monday.

He was named among the substitutes at Ashton Gate.

Brian Easton comes in at left back in place of the suspended Danny Fox, who serves the first of a two-match ban today.
